The invention relates to a coating composition for the coating or binding of pharmaceutically, nutraceutically or cosmetically active ingredients, comprising (a) an anionic polymeric material, and (b) one or more salts of saturated monocarboxylic acids having 6 to 22 carbon atoms, characterized in that the amount of the salts of the monocarboxylic acids in the composition corresponds to 3 to 50 mol percent of the amount of anionic groups in the polymeric material.
