An adhesive tape comprising a structural layer carrying on at least one part of one side thereof a hydrophobic gel and on at least part of the other side thereof a backing layer, the tape having separation lines comprising perforations extending laterally across the tape at regular intervals along the length of the tape, and the structural layer being in the form of a synthetic film or non-woven web, wherein, preferably the backing layer is a polyurethane film and the structural layer comprises a film of melt-blown polyurethane, and that the backing layer is secured to the structural layer by a pressure-sensitive acrylic adhesive. A method of manufacturing said adhesive tape is also disclosed, wherein the method comprises the steps of: (a) providing a preformed pre-laminate comprising the structural layer and a pressure-sensitive adhesive； (b) applying to the pre-laminate a curable hydrophobic gel precursor composition； (c) causing or allowing the gel precursor composition to cure, thereby forming a layer of hydrophobic gel； and (d) laminating a backing layer onto the pressure-sensitive adhesive.
