The present disclosure is directed to a device for housing and retaining a delivery system for a self-expanding implant while providing means for actuating the delivery system. In one embodiment, a delivery device for receiving and operating a delivery system for a self expanding implant is described. The delivery device comprises a tray having a first handle, a receptacle for receiving and retaining a delivery system for a self expanding implant, a second movable handle for engagement with a movable portion of the delivery system, such that operation of the second handle translates movement to the delivery system. The delivery device is detachable and independent from the delivery system for a self expanding implant.
