Embodiments related to head-mounted computing devices that provide navigation support through audio output are disclosed. For example, in one disclosed embodiment, the depth image data and the visible image data are used to generate a three-dimensional mesh of at least a portion of the environment. Using the mesh, at least one feature in the environment is detected. When operating in the familiar search mode, the first audio search queue is output to the user based on the detection of the feature.
