A sterile case for an electronic device used during medical proceduresincludes a rigidhousing with at least one transparent face. An opening in the housing permitsmovement ofthe device into and out of the housing in, for example, a direction parallelto the length orwidth of the housing. A door attached to the housing moves between open andclosedpositions to seal the opening. A sleeve is configured to be received, when thedoor is in theopen position, partially within the housing and to extend outward from thehousing throughthe opening. The sleeve defines a bore aligned with the opening and configuredto receivethe device and to permit insertion of the device through the sleeve into thehousing withoutcontact between the device and a rim of the housing surrounding the opening.
