A storage system is described in which goods are stored in a container 10 and containers 10 are stored in a stack. On the stack, the grid network of the track on which the load handling device is driven is driven. The container 10 may be provided with one or more of the following services: power, power control, heating, lighting, cooling, sensing means, and data logging means.
