PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide intervertebral disc degeneration therapeutic agents effective in the treatment of intervertebral disc degeneration, and to provide screening methods of the therapeutic agents.SOLUTION: The present invention provides a JAK-STAT3 inhibitor, particularly a therapeutic agent containing CP690550 as an active ingredient. Disclosed is a screening method using a change of JAK-STAT3 signaling system as an indicator, wherein a candidate substance is brought into contact with oxidative stress-induced annulus fibrosus (AF) cells.
