PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide once-a-day, extended-release formulations of lamotrigine, exhibiting a significantly similar release rate throughout the gastrointestinal tract irrespective of the pH of the environment.SOLUTION: A release-equalizing composition comprises lamotrigine (3,5-diamino-6-(2,3-dichlorophenyl)-as-triazine), an organic acid, a release enhancing polymer and a release controlling polymer. The release controlling polymer is an enteric polymer, and soluble at pH 4.5 or higher. The formulations treat a neurological disorder.
