PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article having superior leakage prevention property in the width direction by grooves provided on the skin abutment side of an absorbent layer and having high stability of the surface shape of the absorbent layer in wearing.
SOLUTION: The absorbent article 1 includes an absorbent layer 10 and a leakage prevention layer. The skin abutment side in the absorbent layer 10 is provided with a left groove 51, a right groove 52, a front groove 53 and a rear groove 54 respectively on the width-directional left side, width-directional right side, longitudinal front side and longitudinal rear side in plan view. The left groove 51 and the right groove 52 are projectingly curved outwardly in the width direction respectively, and the front groove 53 and the rear groove 54 are projectingly curved outwardly in the longitudinal direction respectively. The left groove 51 and the front groove 53, the left groove 51 and the rear groove 54, the right groove 52 and the front groove 53, and the right groove 52 and the rear groove 54 are separated from each other respectively a front end portion 51A of the left groove 51 and a front end portion 52A of the right groove 52 are positioned on longitudinally front sides of rear end portions 53A and 53B of the front groove 53 and a rear end portion 51B of the left groove 51 and a rear end portion 52B of the right groove 52 are positioned in longitudinally rear sides of the front end portions 54A and 54B of the rear groove 54.
