PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely prevent lateral leakage even on a thin absorbent article without worsening wear feeling.SOLUTION: An absorber 4 includes a pair of right and left first barriers 10 protruding to a use surface side along the substantially longer direction, and a pair of right and left second barriers 11 outside the first barriers 10, protruding to a use surface side along a side edge of the absorber 4. An embossment groove 12 along the substantially longer direction is formed in the middle of each of the first barriers 10 and the second barriers 11. Since body fluid flowing in the width direction is dammed by the first barriers 10 and the second barriers 11 provided on both sides of an absorber body 4A, lateral leakage can be surely prevented even when using the absorber 4 of a thin type. Since the embossment groove 12 is formed in the middle of the first barrier 10 and the second barrier 11, body fluid getting over the first barrier 10 and flowing out to the outside is scattered in the longer direction and can be received in a wide range of the second barrier 11.
