PURPOSE: A neuritin protein for treating stress and depression is provided to remarkably enhance spine density in nerve cells and to improve emotional function.CONSTITUTION: A composition for treating depression or stress contains neuritin(CPG15) protein which enhances spine density. The protein has an amino acid sequence of sequence number 1. The composition contains nucleic acid with a nucleotide encoding the protein. The nucleic acid is a recombinant expression vector with the nucleotide sequence. The recombinant expression vector is a recombinant virus vector. The recombinant virus vector is recombinant retrovirus, adenovirus, or lentivirus.
