PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lubricant used for protecting skin of a human body from friction with a birth-control tool, and a container for lubricant which is used for housing the lubricant.SOLUTION: A lubricant used for protecting skin of a human body has lubricant aqueous solution, thickener, and an exothermic material which generates heat of hydration by reaction with the lubricant aqueous solution, and at least the lubricant aqueous solution and the exothermic material are mixed. The thickener is any one of xanthan gum, methyl vinyl ether/maleic acid, carboxyvinyl polymer or a mixture of a plurality thereof, and the exothermic material is polyol lubricant.
