Topically administrable compositions and methods are included for treating inflammatory skin disease in mammals. The composition includes a therapeutic amount of antihistamine selected from the group consisting of a non-sedating antihistamine, a physiologically acceptable acid of a non-sedating antihistamine, a salt of a non-sedating antihistamine, an amide of a non-sedating antihistamine, and a combination of two or more of these, and emu oil product selected from the group consisting of emu oil, a biologically active fraction of emu oil, and a combination of these. The composition further includes a therapeutic amount of topical corticosteroid. The combination of non-sedating antihistamine and corticosteroid with emu oil has been found to produce a synergistic effect that is more effective in the treatment of inflammatory skin disease than the compounds used separately.L'invention porte sur des compositions administrables par voie topique et sur des procédés pour le traitement de maladies inflammatoires de la peau chez des mammifères.
