PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasound probe and ultrasound diagnostic apparatus allowing an operator to obtain an optimum image, while suppressing heat generation of the ultrasound probe to be equal to or lower than a predetermined value.SOLUTION: Each of the ultrasound probe 1 and 40 includes: a first priority setting unit 26 which sets a priority regarding which of temporal resolution and spatial resolution is given preference. The ultrasound probe 1 (40) further includes a probe control part 11 (42) which sets a measurement parameter relating to the temporal resolution and a measurement parameter relating to the spatial resolution in accordance with the priority set by the first priority setting unit 26 and a measurement depth set in advance such that power consumption falls within the allowable power consumption.
