PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a guide wire to retreat automatically from a needle tip upon separation of an inner needle from a catheter.SOLUTION: A catheter assembly 10 includes an inner needle 12, a housing 14, a catheter 16, a catheter hub 18, a guide wire 20 and a guide wire operation member 22. Further, the catheter assembly 10 includes a protector 24 performing advancing movement relatively to the housing 14 following advance of the catheter hub 18, and allowing a tip of the guide wire 20 to move to a furthermore base end side than a needle tip 12a of the inner needle 12 based on the advancing movement.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1COPYRIGHT: (C)2017,JPO&INPIT
