PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cardioprotective agent which is safe, inexpensive, and simple, and has an excellent cardioprotective action which alleviates and prevents cardiotoxicity of drugs including anthracycline anticancer drugs, or the other cardiac disorders and to provide cardioprotective foods.SOLUTION: A cardioprotective agent contains polyamine or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof as an active ingredient. As the polyamine, spermine is preferable. The cardioprotective agent with spermine as an active ingredient is administered by oral agents of various forms, injections, suppositories, and the like. The cardioprotective agent is particularly preferably used as pharmaceuticals which alleviate cardiotoxicity of anthracycline anticancer drugs, such as doxorubicin and further can be used as drugs except the anticancer agent as a cardioprotective agent to various diseases including angina pectoris and myocardial infarction which cause ischemia-reperfusion disorder, and hypoxia by intense exercise, and the like and as cardioprotective foods.COPYRIGHT: (C)2015,JPO&INPIT【課題】安全、安価、かつ簡便で、アントラサイクリン系抗癌剤をはじめとする薬剤心毒性やその他の心臓障害を軽減・予防する優れた心臓保護作用を有する心臓保護薬及び心臓保護食品の提供。【解決手段】ポリアミン又はそれらの薬学的に許容される塩を有効成分として含有する心臓保護薬。前記ポリアミンとしては、スペルミンが好ましい。スペルミンを有効成分とする、各種形態の経口剤、注射剤、坐剤等により投与する心臓保護薬。【効果】前記心臓保護薬は、ドキソルビシン等のアントラサイクリン系抗癌剤の心毒性を軽減する医薬として特に好ましく用いられるほか、前記抗癌剤以外の薬剤、虚血再還流障害を引き起こす狭心症や心筋梗塞をはじめとする種々の疾患、激しい運動による酸素不足などに対する心臓保護薬及び心臓保護食品として用いることもできる。【選択図】なし
