The present invention relates to a glass yarn provided with a coating made of a polymer selected from among the vinyl acetate/vinyl chloride, polyvinyl chloride, and polyvinylidene chloride copolymers, and containing a silane having the formula Si(R1)(R2)(R3)(R4), where: R1, R2, R3, identical or different, are a C1-C6 alkyl group, a C2-C6 alkenyl group, a C2-C6 alkynyl group, a C6-C10 aryl group, a hydroxyl group, a C1-C6 alkoxy group, a C6-C10 aryloxy group, a C1-C6 acyloxy group, or a C2-C7 alkylcarbonyl group, wherein at least two of the R1, R2, R3 groups are a hydroxyl group or an alkoxy group； and R4 is a group containing at least one epoxy function, an optionally substituted aryl group, a halogen atom or a group having at least one halogen atom, in particular fluorine, a group containing at least one aldehyde function, a group having at least one function containing a sulphur or phosphorous atom, or an acryloxy or methacryloxy group, wherein said group having the aforementioned functions is a C1-C18 carbon group, preferably C1-C8, which can contain at least one oxygen or sulphur heteroatom.
