A biological sample collection and/or storage device 100 comprising a container 102 having a first part 106, a second part 108 and a hinge there between such that the container defines a cavity and maybe opened and closed, and a sample support 104 which is stored within the container and comprises at least one support leg 124 attached to the container at a first end and a sample carrier 130 with a sample substrate 144 wherein the carrier is attached to the support leg at a second end such that the sample support is movable between a folded stored condition (fig 1a) in which it is contained within the cavity and a drying condition (fig 1b) in which the sample substrate is spaced apart from the cavity. The device may further comprise a swab carrier 136 with swab 146 for collecting sample. Alternatively, the device may comprise lancet stored within the container. The sample carrier may further comprise a second support leg 126.
