Controlled or automatic release of gas from ostomy ports. In some embodiments a gap is selectively formed between a cap and a body of an ostomy port. In some embodiments a dedicated gas exhaust lumen is provided as part of the port. Optionally the gas release uses a filter to reduce odor. Figure 1 is the representative figure.
