The present invention relates to the cosmetic use of the combination of a carob germ extract (Ceratonia siliqua L.) and caffeine, or one of the derivatives thereof, as a slimming active agent, to increase the expression of the aquaglyceroporins and the reduction of the triglycerides contained in the adipocytes. The invention also relates to a cosmetic care method that includes the topical application, on at least one portion of the skin of the body or the face, of the combination of a carob germ extract (Ceratonia siliqua L.) and caffeine, or one of the derivatives thereof, in a composition including a physiologically acceptable medium, such as to obtain a slimming effect, and specifically to reduce localised excess fat.La présente invention se rapporte à l'utilisation cosmétique de l'association d'un extrait de germe de caroube (Ceratonia siliqua L.) et de caféine, ou un de ses dérivés, en tant qu'agent actif amincissant, pour augmenter l'expression des aquaglycéroporines et le déstockage des triglycérides contenus dans les adipocytes. L'invention a également pour objet une méthode de soin cosmétique comprenant l'application topique, sur au moins une partie de la peau du corps ou du visage, de l'association d'un extrait de germe de caroube (Ceratonia siliqua L.) et de caféine, ou un de ses dérivés, dans une composition comprenant un milieu physiologiquement acceptable, pour obtenir un effet amincissant, et plus particulièrement pour diminuer les surcharges adipeuses localisées.
