PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source device for an endoscope which can supply stable illumination light with fewer fluctuations of light quantity to an endoscope, and an endoscope system using the same.SOLUTION: A green semiconductor light source 36 is a fluorescence type semiconductor light source comprising excitation light LD80 emitting blue excitation light LBe and a rotation plate 82 having a green fluorescence body 81 formed on a surface for emitting green fluorescent light LGf by being excited by the blue excitation light LBe. A dimming control part 42 for adjusting light quantity of the green fluorescent light LGf is arranged on an optical path of the green fluorescent light LGf. A data generation part 110 generates light quantity fluctuation data of the green fluorescent light LGf that results from the rotations of the rotation plate 82 and further generates light quantity correction data that is a waveform of a reverse phase of the light quantity fluctuation data. A light source control part 43 fluctuates a transmission rate of the dimming control part 42 in accordance with the light quantity correction data and corrects the fluctuations of the light quantity of the green fluorescent light LGf.
