A medical device (1) for storing a corneal sample (3) comprises means for receiving and enclosing the corneal sample, secured to means for creating a pressure gradient with overpressure on the endothelial side and to means for circulating a storage liquid in arrangements provided in the means for receiving and enclosing. The means for receiving and enclosing sealingly enclose the scleral rim that surrounds the cornea to delimit separate endothelial and epithelial chambers in which storage medium can circulate with overpressure in the endothelial chamber. The intermediate part (2), and the endothelial cover (4), comprise inlet and outlet holes for storage medium to which there are connected the means for circulating the storage medium and the means for creating the pressure gradient between the endothelial chamber and the epithelial chamber with overpressure in the endothelial chamber. Preferably, the device comprises an epithelial cover (5) allowing adjustable applanation.
