Recombinant human bile salts stimulated lipase (rhBSSL) for use in increasing the growth rate of a premature human infant, said use comprising the enteric administration stage of recombinant human lipase stimulated by bile salts to said infant, wherein said lipase is administered in an amount per day between 1 and 100 mg of said lipase per kg of infant weight, between 5 and 50 mg of said lipase per 5 kg of the infant, or between 15 and 40 mg of said lipase per kg of infant , during a period of at least approximately 4 weeks, where said infant is small for gestational age.Lipasa humana recombinante estimulada por sales biliares (rhBSSL) para uso en el incremento de la tasa de crecimiento de un lactante humano prematuro, comprendiendo dicho uso la etapa de administración entérica de la lipasa humana recombinante estimulada por sales biliares a dicho lactante, en donde dicha lipasa se administra en una cantidad al día entre 1 y 100 mg de dicha lipasa por kg de peso del lactante, entre 5 y 50 mg de dicha lipasa por 5 kg del lactante, o entre 15 y 40 mg de dicha lipasa por kg del lactante, durante un período de al menos aproximadamente 4 semanas, en donde dicho lactante es pequeño para la edad gestacional.
