PURPOSE: A pharmaceutical composition and food composition containing Chamaecyparis obtuse extract is provided to change electric activity of interstitial cells of Cajal and to effectively regulate gastrointestinal tract movement. CONSTITUTION: A pharmaceutical composition for preventign and treating gastrointestinal tract movement disorder contains Chamaecyparis obtuse extract as an active ingredient. The prevention and treatment is performed by changing electric activity of interstitial cells of Cajal. The extract is prepared from leaves, stems, or branches of Chamaecyparis obtuse by supercritical fluid extraction or hot water extraction. The supercritical fluid extract is prepared using supercritical fluid at 35-45°；C for 30-240 minutes.
