The present invention relates generally to antibodies and fragments thereof which are capable of specifically binding apicomplexan actin. The invention also relates to an epitope of apicomplexan actin which can be used to raise such antibodies, and to screening methods for identifying other agents that are capable of binding specifically to apicomplexan actin.
