PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide novel methods of improving arteriole a structure and function and thereby mitigating pathologies associated with impaired circulation.SOLUTION: The unexpected finding is provided that vessels smaller than even the smallest arteries (i.e. arterioles) thicken, become dysfunctional and cause end organ damage to tissue as diverse as the brain and the kidney. The method is provided to improve the structure and function of arterioles and preserve the function of end organs such as the brain and kidney.
