PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an excavating device in which multiple guide rod units are fixed on one excavating blade in conformity to the number of rows on the ridge, and thereby the cost of constitution is reduced as low as possible to decrease traction resistance, and the drying of roots can be made quick so as to be rolled when lifted from the ground.SOLUTION: An excavating device 80 is configured by mounting an excavating blade 81 substantially U-shaped in rear view to a working machine mounting unit 70 provided at the rear of a machine body frame 3 in a foliage processing machine 1 serving as a traveling device, and having multiple guide rods 82b, 82b ... protruded to the rear from the horizontal part 81b of the excavating blade 81. The multiple guide rods 82b, 82b ... are made as one set to form comb-shaped guide rod units 82, and the multiple guide rod units 82 are arranged in accordance with the number of planting rows planted to one ridge.
