PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packaging material for forming a bag body for holding an exothermic composition, the packaging material not requiring release paper and free from the various drawbacks of conventional sticking means for adhesive-type warming materials, and also to provide an adhesive-type warming material using the packaging material.SOLUTION: A packaging material according to the present invention is a packaging material for forming a bag body for holding an exothermic composition in it, the packaging material comprising: (A) a main member which is a member configuring the exothermic-composition holding part of the bag body when forming the bag body and which comprises a resin film 3 having no adhesive layer on the surfaces of itself and having, on a surface forming an outer side of the bag body, a releasant-treated area 4 and non-releasant-treated area 5, the non-releasant-treated area 5 being located at least in the periphery and (B) a sticking member which comprises a base material sheet 6 having an adhesive layer 7 on one surface.
