The present invention relates to a tomato plant which carries at least one QTL in its genome that leads to its fruits comprising higher levels of anthocyanins when compared to fruits produced by a tomato plant not carrying said QTL in its genome, wherein said fruits are not purple at the red-ripe harvest stage. The QTL may be QTL1 which is located on chromosome 10 between marker sequence SEQ ID No. 1 and the end of said chromosome and can be identified by the markers having SEQ ID No. 2 and SEQ ID No. 3. Optionally, also QTL2 is present, which is located on chromosome 9 between marker sequences SEQ ID No. 4 and SEQ ID No. 5 and which can be identified by the marker having SEQ ID No. 9 and/or SEQ ID No. 22. Optionally, also QTL3 is present, which is located on chromosome 7 between marker sequences SEQ ID No. 13 and SEQ ID No. 14 and which can be identified by the markers having SEQ ID Nos. 15-20. QTL1 and optionally QTL2 and/or QTL3 are as comprised in the genome of a tomato plant representative seed of which was deposited with the NCIMB under deposit number NCIMB 42470. A tomato plant of the invention can also comprise all QTLs, each either in homozygous or heterozygous form.
