The ore deposit exploration method according to the present invention includes: obtaining altered mineral and/or molybdenum and/or gold information including information on the distribution of the proportions of at least one from the group consisting of altered mineral, molybdenum, and gold present in a target region; obtaining metal-containing substance information including information on the presence or absence of a metal-containing substance containing a metallic element included in the ore deposit in the target region, and/or obtaining topographical information including information on ground elevation in the target region; and estimating the presence of an ore deposit within the target region on the basis of at least the altered mineral and/or molybdenum and/or gold information, and the metal-containing substance information and/or the topographical information.
