PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing apparatus that estimates a subject's action using near-infrared spectroscopy brain measurement which can utilize measurement signals received from a subject who lives a daily life in an ordinary living environment rather than a special environment such as a laboratory.SOLUTION: An information processing apparatus includes identification means that identifies a subject's actions on the basis of information acquired by an observation device, extraction means that extracts signal components over a predetermined period from signals which represent brain activities and are received from a handheld measurement instrument, production means that produces a sample which associates the extracted signal components with information representing the subject's actions corresponding to the signal components, construction means that constructs a classifier for actions through learning using plural samples, and estimation means that inputs a signal representing a certain brain activity to the classifier to thereby estimate the action corresponding to the input signal.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
