Methods and devices for measuring wheals and detecting allergies on three-dimensional representations of areas of forearms are disclosed. The devices may scan the forearms and generate three-dimensional representations of the areas. A filtering stage may be applied on the three-dimensional representations of the areas. The filtering stage may remove, in a first step, imperfections smaller than wheals while in a second step it may remove imperfections up to and including wheals. The filtering stage generates two intermediate representations. The intermediate representations may then be subtracted between each other so that only three-dimensional representations of the wheals remain. The wheals may then be measured and the corresponding allergies may be detected.
