Breast cancer prognosis, prediction of response to anti-progestin treatment based on the prediction and gene expression of progesterone receptor subtypes
The present invention provides gene expression profiles that indicate whether patients suffering from PR-driven malignancies are likely to respond to treatment with a therapeutic compound that is an antiprogestin. By identifying such responsiveness, treatment providers can predetermine patients who will benefit from such treatment and identify alternative therapies for non-responders. Also provided are methods of using gene expression profiles and assays for identifying the presence of gene expression profiles in patients.
