Novelty: a planting module for the greening of flat roofs is disclosed. Technical features: a container closed from all sides, made of biodegradable materials (e.g. cardboard, wooden fibres) and containing a planting substrate comprising a combination of minerals and organic materials; a hydrophilous foam (in the form of flakes) is stratified or mixed with the above substrate; a non-biodegradable layer as well as insulation and draining layers are positioned under said planting module, before the positioning of this last on the flat roof; a biodegradable protective layer made of woven layer of plant fibres and photodegradable stabilization threads is added on the top of said planting module. Advantages: high water absorption and minimal weight of the planted flat roof due to the lightweight planting substrate and hydrophilous foam in use; easy transport and installation of the entirely closed prefabricated container.
