The present invention relates to a method to find a material to treat neuropsychiatric diseases and more specifically, to a method to find a material to treat neuropsychiatric diseases by extracting brainwave variables from EEG in sleep-wake conditions, building a reference space, projecting the brain wave variables of a test material, and analyzing the result in a quantitative manner. The method given in the present invention is able to compare a certain functional brain condition using the spatial position in a quantitative manner and identify the difference and the proceedings by time of a condition induced by a medicine. Therefore, the method is applicable to a pre-clinical phase in order to find a material to treat neuropsychiatric diseases and is also able to automate the evaluation process since the rules to evaluate the effect of a medicine are consistent.본 발명은 신경정신질환 치료 물질의 탐색 방법에 관한 것으로, 더욱 구체적으로 수면-각성 상태의 뇌파(EEG)로부터 뇌파변수를 추출하고 참조 공간(reference space)을 구축한 후 시험 물질의 뇌파변수를 참조 공간에 투사하여 이를 정량적으로 비교분석함으로써 신경정신질환 치료 물질을 탐색하는 방법에 관한 것이다.본 발명의 방법은 공간상의 위치로 특정 기능적 뇌 상태를 정량적으로 비교할 수 있고, 약물에 의해 유도된 상태의 차이와 시간적 경과를 파악할 수 있다. 따라서 신경정신질환 치료 약물의 효과적인 검색을 위해 전임상 시험에 응용될 수 있고, 약물 효과에 대한 평가 규칙의 일관성이 있으므로 평가 자동화도 가능하다.
