PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical device having not only superior flexibility but also excellent prevention effect of the interface detachment between members adjacently in the radial direction, and to provide a method for producing the same.SOLUTION: A tubular body 210 of a catheter 200 that is this medical device includes: an inner layer 211 having a main lumen 220 thereinside a coil layer 230 formed by winding a wire 231 whose cross sectional shape is noncircular in the long direction an outer layer 212 and sub-lumens 280 through which operation lines 270 are inserted. In the wire 231 of the coil layer 230, the inner side B is arcuate in a cross sectional shape in the longitudinal section of the catheter 200, and a maximum width direction of the cross sectional shape is aslant inclined to the long direction.
