A medical balloon 30 including: a balloon body member 34 having a first and second ends, a longitudinal dimension, a body length, a balloon wall 60 formed of polymer material, and at least one strip 50 extending between the first and second ends of the body member. The at least one strip 50 is fixed to and disposed in overlying relationship on the balloon wall 60 and is formed of polymer material having embedded therein a heat conductive particulate material; the at least one strip 50 being at least one of textured and shaped. Preferably the balloon body member 34 is formed of nylon-12, the polymeric strip 50 is formed of nylon-6,6 and the heat conductive material is tungsten and is radiopaque. Also claimed is a method of forming the medical balloon 30 by placing the raw balloon tubing in a mold (100), heating and inflating the tubing in the mold (100), and removing the formed balloon 30 from the mold (100).
