The invention relates to a method involving the following steps: taking a hand of bananas attached by the stems (T) thereof to a stalk (C) cutting the hand of bananas at the stalk (C) in order to obtain at least two half-hands or bunches (DP) connected to one portion (C1) of the stalk separating each half-hand at the previously cut portion of the stalk (C1) into tiers (CO) of at least two bananas, the stems (T) of which remain attached to a portion (C2) of the stalk cutting the individual bananas from each tier (CO) in order to obtain a banana (B) in which the stem (T) remains attached to a portion (C3) of the stalk and checking the single banana.
