PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a material for treating animal excrements, having good absorbency of animal excrement urine and good water-retaining property, agglomerating the excrements when contacting therewith, sanitarily excellent, burnable and effectively utilizing wastes.
SOLUTION: The method comprises pulverizing organic wastes such as waste materials for the material for treating animal excrements, molding the pulverized products to be granular in the presence of a concentrated liquid of coffee extract, adhering a coating material containing fibrous waste pulverized products and a water-absorptive resin on the surfaces of the molded granules to form a covering material layer, impregnating a condensed liquid of the coffee extract, a tea concentrated liquid, or the concentrated liquid of coffee extract and the tea concentrated liquid, and drying the obtained product. The granular material for treating animal excrements, suppressing generation of malodor and having water-retaining function is provided by utilizing the organic wastes.
