Intervertebral spacer assemblies and systems thereof. The intervertebral spacer and plate are held by an insertion tool having a prong on one side and a rod on the other side. The tool is a holder comprising distally said prong and a channel to guide said rod to relaeasably engage the spacer. The assembly is inserted together using said holder, upon removal of the holder, the intervertebral spacer and plate may no longer considered connected/coupled and act as separate components.
