PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fishing reel capable of facilitating a return operation from a clutch-off state to a clutch-on state, with a reel pat of a spool thumbed by a thumb regardless of a reel diameter of the spool.SOLUTION: The fishing reel comprises a level wind device 50 in which a fishline S fed from a spool 5A is inserted, and that reciprocates in front of the spool 5A in conjunction with a rotating operation of a handle 8. A fishline guide body 60 is rotationally turned in the cross direction between a fishline take-up state and a fishline release state in conjunction with the on/off operation of a clutch mechanism 20.
