The invention is directed generally to an electric toothbrush and particularlyto a brush head for such an electrictoothbrush, having a preferably substantially plate-shaped bristle supportincluding mounting means for the movable mounting ofthe bristle support, said bristle support carrying several outer bristle tuftsand several inner bristle tufts, said outer bristle tuftshaving a greater height than said inner bristle tufts, such that in theworking surface defined by the free ends of the tufts there isformed a central depression which has a groove-shaped concave bottom curved inone direction and extending substantiallystraight in the direction vertical thereto. According to the invention, atleast one of the outer bristle tufts has a chamfer on its outerlying edge of its free end close to the circumferential side of the bristlesupport.
