The purpose of the present invention is to provide a detergent composition having excellent anti-bacterial activity. Specifically, this detergent composition is characterized by containing an imidazolinium betaine type amphoteric surfactant and 0.5 to 10 mass % of PEG-1 lauryl glycol represented by general formula (I). (In the formula, m and n each represent the number of added moles of oxyethylene groups, and the average value of m+n is 1.)
