In order to overcome the limitations and problems that earlier apparatus and methods have experienced, an apparatus (10 110 210) for reducing the temperature of a liquid product in a processing line (32 132 232) is proposed, comprising:- a housing or member (12 112 212) having a passageway (14 114 214) formed therein for receiving the liquid product in the passageway (14 114 214)- an inlet (16 116 216) and an outlet (18 118 218) each in fluid communication with a corresponding opposed end of the passageway (14 114 214)- a plurality of delivery channels (22 122 222) formed in the housing or member (12 112 212), each one of the plurality of delivery channels (22 122 222) having an opening (26 126 226) in fluid communication with a different location of the passageway (14 114 214) and constructed to provide a chilling medium into the passageway (14 114 214) and- a support member for the housing or member (12 112 212), the support member constructed to mount said housing or member (12 112 212) in the processing line (32 132 232).A related method for reducing the temperature of a liquid product in a processing line (32 132 232) is also proposed.
