PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air sterilizer capable of sterilizing the atmosphere to remove bacteria while holding a sterilizing power of the atmosphere itself to last the atmosphere as the antibacterial atmosphere for a long time, so as to prevent serious prevalence of a disease caused by air-borne infection such as H5N1 type avian influenza or the like and to improve symptoms.
SOLUTION: Raw drinking water such as tap water 2, ground water, distilled water, mineral water or the like is brought into contact with a metal ion antibacterial agent 1, which comprises an inorganic or organic carrier having antibacterial metal ions such as zinc ions, silver ions, copper ions or the like supported thereon, in a reserved water. The raw water is thus ionized to become antibacterial ion water 10, which is, then, formed into mist M or a cluster by ultrasonic vibration 12 and/or heating, is merged with the intake air A under evaporation-mixing by a stirring member 14 to become the ion-sterilizing air R and is discharged into the atmosphere. Accordingly, floating microbes such as bacteria, a virus or the like in the air is sterilized to be removed while lasting the sterilizing effect of the atmosphere itself to become the antibacterial atmosphere.
