PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use an ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus under proper illumination condition.
SOLUTION: The ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus has an illumination control section (76) for controlling an illumination unit (L) arranged independently from the ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus (100), an illumination condition detecting section (71) for detecting the illumination condition in a room, and an illumination condition determining section (74) for determining whether the illumination condition detected by the illumination condition detecting section (71) is proper. The illumination control section (76) controls the illumination unit (L) according to the result determined by the illumination condition determining section (74). The illumination condition determining section (74) determines whether the illumination condition detected by the illumination condition detecting section (71) is proper based on the reference illumination information set in advance for example.
