The portable device may employ an interface protocol that makes the portable device immediately compatible with different operating systems and hardware configurations. Once the portable device is connected to the host, the data-management application can be automatically launched. The convenience and portability of a data-management system may be enhanced by integrating advanced data processing and display features with the portable device.
