PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hanging strap which can be sterilized effectively over a long term, and to provide a sterilization device.SOLUTION: A hanging strap 1 according to an embodiment includes: an annular handle 11； a support member (a strap 12) which supports the handle 11 in a manner that the handle 11 can rotate in a circumferential direction； a light shielding cover 4 which covers a circumferential part of the handle 11 in the manner that the handle 11 can rotate in the circumferential direction； and light emitting elements (LEDs 31) which radiate ultraviolet light for sterilizing the handle 11 to a portion of the handle 11, covered by the cover 4, at an interior of the cover 4. The support member suspends from a retainer (a retaining pipe 21), and a lower end part of the support member is attached to an upper part of the handle 11. The cover 4 covers the upper part of the handle 11 and the lower end part of the support member.
