PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical image system which shortens the time that elapses after a medical image display device makes a display request to a medical image storing device before a desired image is displayed on the medical image display device.SOLUTION: The medical image system comprises the medical image display device which can display virtual image data that correspond to the number of pixels of an image display area and the medical image storing device which stores medical image data and can form corresponding virtual image data from the medical image data. When the medical image display device makes a display request of desired medical image data, the medical image storing device forms, from the medical image data, virtual image data having smaller data capacity than the medical image data, and transmits the desired medical image data and the corresponding virtual image data to the medical image display device via a network.
