There is provided a treatment device for use with an endoscope having an instrument channel and a distal end for passage of an endoscope instrument. The treatment apparatus includes an end effector assembly having a base disposed at a distal end of the endoscope, an end effector rotatable relative to the base, and a mounting portion for attaching the base to the endoscope. The mounting portion can be resiliently compressed and can be radially compressed to be inserted into the instrument channel and the resilient force of the resiliently compressed mounting portion retains the base relative to the distal end of the endoscope.
